Hockey Instructor - Part Time
Job Position: Hockey Instructor
Hourly Wage: $17.50 per 50 Minute Class
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a part-time position, and hours of work and days fluctuate with evening and weekend hours are required.
The Hockey Instructor position at the Iceplex must have a broad knowledge of the USA Hockey curriculum for both adults and children. The instructor is responsible for teaching the basic fundamentals to adults and children in a supportive environment for the Hockey 101/201 and Never Ever League programs.

Essential Functions
- Arriving prepared and on time.
- Providing hockey instruction to the USA hockey standards.
- Making every effort to cover all skills in the level you are teaching.
- Assisting Skating Director with determining placement for all skaters.
- Evaluating students at the end of every session.
- Encourage appropriate behavior of skaters.
- Role modeling appropriate behavior by:
- Dressing appropriately and professionally
- Respecting facilities, students, and staff.
- Using appropriate language.
- Encouraging students to do their best.
- Creating a supportive learning environment.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong background in Hockey.
- Prior coaching experience prefered.
- Strong knowledge of USA Hockey guidelines.
- Must like working with children and adults.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to manage large groups.
- Friendly and outgoing.
- Strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.

- Competitive hockey background
Physical Demands
- Required to sit, stand, walk and frequent use of stairs. Required to move about through multi - level building with use of stairs.
- Required to frequently bend or lift.
- Required to lift heavy weights (less than 50 pounds)
