SIMPLY DEFENSE HOCKEY July 11th - July 14th Defensive skills and tactics taught include agility and foot speed, lateral mobility, backward acceleration, gap control, puck retrievals, breakout options, net front play, winning battles, defensive zone play, playing the rush (1 on 1's, 2 on 1's etc.), supporting your partner, neutral and offensive zone play, blocking shots and more!
Offered as a 4 day camp or 3 day weekend camp with a double session on Sunday, this program covers the wrist shot, snap shot, backhand shot, slap shot and flip shot. A station format maximizes student/instructor interaction, creates more drill reps, and allows for grouping of students by age on the ice.
Janosz Goaltending’s unique age and skill specific camps will develop each student’s mental, physical, and emotional skills in order to develop a balance of “blocking” and “reacting” saves. JSG has helped advance over 100 goalies to the Pro, NCAA, Major Jr, Jr. A/B, and Prep School ranks. Several JSG graduates have also been selected to the USA Hockey Select Festivals.
Coaches will provide instruction each day for on-ice and off-ice components. Expectations will be set from day one with players performing each task to the best of their ability and having fun while doing so.
