Rochester, NY, March 9, 2023 - The Annual Rochester Rumble youth hockey tournament, produced by MYHockey Tournaments, is set to take place this weekend at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex.
The event will bring over 2,000 players and family members to Monroe County for the three-day event. In total, 55 teams will compete, representing IL, MA, MD, MI, NY, OH, NJ, PA, TX, VA, and the province of Ontario. “MyHockey Tournaments is a longtime partner of the Iceplex, and one of the premier tournament organizers in North America,” said Chris Woodworth, Executive Director at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex. “As their final event of this season approaches, we’d like to thank them for choosing Rochester as a host community, as well as wish all participants the best of luck as they compete this weekend.” The Rochester Rumble will be the sixth event hosted by MYHockey Tournaments at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex this year. In total, 13 teams from Ontario, and 1 from Quebec will be participating in this event—more than any tournament that has taken place in Rochester since the COVID-19 pandemic. “The Rochester Cup Challenge is a clear indicator that sports tourism from our northern friends is coming back strong,” said Chris Woodworth, Executive Director at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex. “While ice hockey tournaments have seen an incredible rebound from the effects of COVID, participation from Canadian teams has been lagging.
