Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex announced today that it will act as host to three exhibition games for the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
The games will feature four of the eight teams that will be competing in the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championship tournament, which takes place in Buffalo N.Y. from December 26th to January 5th. Teams are comprised of the best players in the World, all ages 20 and under. Each of the three games will take place in Lattimore Arena at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex, and general admission tickets are $5.00 per ticket. The exhibition game schedule is as follows: • December 18th at 7:00pm: Sweden vs Denmark • December 20th at 7:00pm: Russia vs Denmark • December 23rd at 4:00pm: Russia vs Slovakia Online ticketing is available for all games through the Iceplex website, and tickets will also be available for purchase at the door on each game day. The top two players for the 2018 NHL draft may be playing during these games held in Rochester. Sweden, likely to feature defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, who is the clear favorite to be chosen first overall in the draft in June. Russian forward Andrei Svechnikov is projected to be the second overall selection at the NHL draft. In addition to these exhibition games, the teams from Russia, Slovakia and Denmark will all host their pre-event team camps at the Iceplex from December 16th until December 24th, prior to departing for the tournament in Buffalo.
