Over 1,300 ice hockey players and family members will come together this weekend for the Bracket Madness tournament. The event, which is put on by SuperSeries AAA, will take place at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex and runs November 17th through the 19th.
In total, 32 youth hockey teams will compete, of which 31 teams traveled in from all over North America. The event runs in a bracket style format, and hosts teams that are solely comprised of players from the 2004 birth year.
The 32 out of town teams equates to roughly 1,250 out of town guests that will reside in local hotels, dine in local restaurants and shop in local stores over a three day period. Based on the National Association of Sports Commissions Economic Impact Assumptions, this event will have an economic impact on the local community in the range of $315,000 and $515,000.
