Over 1,700 ice hockey players and family members will come together this holiday weekend for the Presidential Power-Play Tournament. The event, which is put on by MyHockey Tournaments, will take place at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex and runs February 17th through the 19th.
In total, 40 youth hockey teams will compete, of which 37 teams traveled in from all over North America. This event attracts U.S. teams from NY, PA, OH, VA, DE and NJ, as well as Canadian teams from the Province of Ontario. The 37 out of town teams equates to roughly 1,550 out of town guests that will reside in local hotels, dine in local restaurants and shop in local stores over a three day period. Based on the National Association of Sports Commissions Economic Impact Assumptions, this event will have an economic impact on the local community in the range of $415,000 and $615,000.
