The Iceplex Broomball League (The IBL) announced plans today to host four free open house events, providing local residents an opportunity to learn the skills and rules of broomball at no cost.
The events take place at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex, which is located on the campus of Monroe Community College. Event dates and times are as follows: April 1st: 10:30am to 11:30am April 1st: 2:45pm to 3:45pm April 8th: 10:30am to 11:30am April 8th: 2:45pm to 3:45pm These open house events are for coed adults (18+) and equipment is provided. Participants are encouraged to pre-register on the Iceplex website, to dress warm and to bring a helmet (hockey, lacrosse, bicycle, etc.) as limited helmets will be available. Broomball is a cross between ice hockey and soccer, is played on ice (with shoes) and requires no experience to get started. Players use a broom shaped stick, and instead of a hockey puck, the game is played with a large ball. For more information on the sport of broomball, on these open house events, or to pre-register yourself or a group to attend, visit the event webpage by clicking HERE. Comments are closed.
