Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex has reached a very significant milestone, celebrating 20 years of business. The multi-use participatory sports facility has evolved drastically since its early years, now generating more annual economic impact and foot traffic than any other business of its kind in the Greater Rochester area.
We’re incredibly proud of the many benefits the Iceplex brings to the community, not only in the form of numerous healthy activities and events which we host, but also for the substantial economic impact that results from our 1.7 million annual visitors”, said Chris Woodworth, General Manager of the Iceplex. “We have many great things in store for the upcoming year, which is shaping up to be one of the most successful in the facilities existence.”
To celebrate this milestone, the Iceplex is offering $2.00 admission to its public skating session scheduled for 3:00pm this Saturday (9/8/18 - its official 20th anniversary). In addition, they are offering a 20% discount on its Skating 101 program, and it is Never Ever League (adult learn to play hockey program). This limited time offer is available by using promotional code BGRI20 when registering for these programs online through September 8th.
On April 1st of 2013, the facility officially became Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex, and since then it has seen substantial growth and improvements, including;
• Construction of a new addition, home of Nazareth Men’s & Women’s Hockey programs, Lattimore Physical Therapy, and Iceplex Fitness
• The addition of many new tenants, including Parisi Rochester, NewEdge Hockey Development Company, Selects Academy at Bishop Kearney’s U19 and U16 girls hockey programs, Nazareth Men’s & Women’s Hockey programs, and Legacy Global Sports Event Management
• Numerous improvements to the facility, including the installation of a LED lighting system in all four ice rinks, upper lobby seating area which is complete with a fireplace and live streaming televisions of all four rinks, and major remodeling of all lobby spaces throughout the 186,000 square foot facility
• The launch of many new internally managed programs, events, and leagues, which provide thousands of locals an opportunity to stay active
• The addition of many event partners, which host over 20 events annually, bringing hundreds of thousands of out-of-town guests to Rochester
We are looking forward to having everyone come out to the Iceplex on Saturday to help us celebrate, enjoy birthday cake, and have some fun on the ice.
Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex, in conjunction with the Rochester Edge Girls Hockey, Selects Academy at Bishop Kearney, and Nazareth Women’s Hockey, will celebrate World Girls Hockey Weekend on October 6th.
The World Girls Ice Hockey Weekend was launched by the International Ice Hockey Federation in 2011, and is a global opportunity for girls to try ice hockey as a new sport. As part of this initiative, thousands of girls across the globe will be participating in free ‘try hockey’ events.
A free event will be taking place at the Iceplex from 10:30am to 11:30am, which will provide local girls, ages 4 to 12, an opportunity to try the game of ice hockey at no cost.
Equipment and ice skates are provided at no cost, for those who do not own their own, and on-ice instruction is provided by coaches and players from both the Rochester Edge Girls Hockey program, and Nazareth Women’s Hockey.

About Rochester Edge Girls Hockey
Rochester Edge Girls Hockey was established to promote girls ice hockey in the Greater Rochester area. We are an independent organization currently affiliated with the Monroe County Youth Hockey and Perinton Youth Hockey organizations. We are committed to placing every girl who is interested in hockey, from beginner to elite player, on an age-appropriate and skill-appropriate team that will maximize their athletic development and grow their love for the game. On a yearly basis, we strive to field the most competitive all-girls teams possible across several age groups and skill levels. We also fully support any girl who chooses to develop their hockey skills while playing on a traditional co-ed team. Our coaching staff is dedicated to teaching sportsmanship, character and teamwork by creating a fun environment that fosters a winning attitude.
