Rochester Youth Hockey and Rochester Grizzlies Youth Hockey Announce Intent to Form Coalition

1/10/2017

Today, two of Rochester’s most historic youth hockey organizations, Rochester Youth Hockey and Rochester Grizzlies, are pleased to announce their intention to form a coalition.

The coalition will provide for a unified player development platform, including USA Hockey Tier 1 and Tier 2 tournament bound teams for boys and girls at all age levels. Non-tournament bound travel teams and Empire Conference house teams will continue to be supported.

The coalition’s hockey leadership group will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry and the Rochester community, and the coalition promises to provide the most comprehensive and competitive hockey option available in the area. Further information, including members of the coalition’s hockey leadership group, coaches, the try out schedule, and more specifics on player development and game competition planning, will be reviewed with the hockey community in an informational session on or before February 15, 2017.

Members of the proposed coalition have expressed excitement at the prospect of this arrangement and what it means for Rochester hockey, and look forward to furthering hockey excellence in our area.
