The Rochester community is known as being one of the most giving in the United States. It has a vast number of charitable organizations, grassroots community-based groups, and an overwhelming majority of the population that rises to the occasion in times of need--and the hockey community in Monroe County is no different. Over the course of each year, Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex receives numerous calls from members of the hockey community looking to donate used hockey equipment, with the hopes that it can be used for someone with a need for it. During these trying times for our Nation, as well as local community, the frequency of those calls has significantly increased, which was the driving force for Hockey Heroes.
This new initiative is a way for the hockey community to assist those in need. Here's how it works:
Donate new/gently used hockey equipment (which is eligible as a tax deduction--charitable donation)
All donations will then be cleaned, and made available to those who could put it to good use
Donations will be accepted year round, however with the new hockey season quickly approaching, Hockey Heroes has arranged for a Drop Off period in late July, and one day Pick Up event in early August. The hope is that our hockey community will be able to take all of that equipment that is no longer being used, and help us put it to good use by giving it to a good home.
From our hockey family to yours, let's get through this together.
Monroe Community Sports Centre Corp (dba Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex) is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization, therefore all donated items are eligible as a tax-deductible donations.
